The art of map-making has taken tremendous strides in the digital age. In the last decade, there has been an explosion of maps that are not necessarily meant to be used for directions, but instead are considered works of art and inspired imagination. We want you to create an illustrative map that reflects a city (or a neighbourhood, community) or is inspired by the urban elements that make up a city.

Bring your own maps, experiences of a favourite city, ideas and get ready to enter the creative mapping contest with the Stockholm Design Nerds. The winning map will be published in Spacing Magazine. Lets make it our map!

the OBJECTIVE
the A’ Futuristic Design Competition is a freestyle design competition open to both concept stage and realized works designed by professional and young designers, design companies and other business in this industry worldwide. This award is unique in it is own, only concept stage futuristic works are accepted, it is very important that the submitted design proposal should not be feasible to realize using todays technology.

Nerd Jam 3: Fast and Furious Edition

the ASSIGNMENT
the Scrap-Lab seeks to find innovative and sustainable designs made of scrap. The objective is to recycle waste materials in the form of new products to bring them back into the economic circle. Our task is to submit a prototype in one of nine categories: furniture, accessoires, jewellery, bags, fashion, garden, art, children or various. The proposal is due Sept 18th and can be submitted in the form of an actual prototype, free-hand drawing, or a computer generated drawing with a description of the idea. Come out, have some fun and lets make some recycled designs!

the OBJECTIVE
Devise a system to drastically improve the number of times medical professionals are washing their hands while working, thus preventing infection and saving thousands of lives.

the ASSIGNMENT
Create a visual or written plan that depicts how you intend to get more doctors and nurses washing. It can be a picture, a diagram, a couple paragraphs, anything. It can be as general or as specific as you wish, but whatever you come up with should be engaging and clear.
